A LITTLE ABOUT THE CLOSET

Everyone
deserves
something to wear.

The Free Clothing Closet provides a welcoming place to find clothing at no cost in Waldoboro, Maine. Everyone is welcome, regardless of residence or income.

Clothing is an everyday necessity, but replacing a winter coat, finding shoes for a growing child or putting together a work wardrobe can be expensive. The Clothing Closet exists to help make those ordinary needs easier to meet.

Donated clothing is sorted and made available to community members. The racks hold a changing assortment of garments for children and adults, depending on what has recently been donated and what is available.

The space is organized for browsing, with clothing grouped into different areas and sizes. Visitors can take their time looking for something suitable without having to pay.

The closet is part of Medomak Exchange's work to make everyday resources easier to share within our community. Good clothing can continue being used instead of sitting unwanted in a closet or going to waste.

Come by during open hours

Find us at 124 Friendship Road, on the Medomak House property. Follow the signs for the Clothing Closet entrance.

Take a look around

Browse the clothing racks and see what is available. Our selection changes as donations arrive.

Choose what you need

There is no charge for clothing. Everything is offered for personal use, with care for our neighbors and this shared community resource.

Donating clothing

Clean, gently used clothing and accessories can make a difference to someone who needs them. Seasonal items and practical everyday clothing are especially helpful when they match current needs.

Please donate clothing that is wearable, clean and in good condition, without significant stains or damage. What the closet can accept may depend on storage space and the season.

PART OF MEDOMAK EXCHANGE

Sharing clothes
since 2021.

The Free Clothing Closet opened at the Medomak House property in April 2021.

When the Medomak House and barn were acquired for community use, the property became a place where practical local services could continue and grow.

The Clothing Closet began welcoming visitors to its space in the barn in the spring of 2021. Since then, donated clothing and the efforts of volunteers have helped the program serve visitors from Waldoboro and beyond.

The closet shares the Medomak House property with the independently operated Waldoboro Food Pantry. Both are important resources for Waldoboro and surrounding communities.
