Good Things Thrift & Craft is a community thrift shop in Waldoboro, operated in support of Medomak Exchange.
Inside, you'll find furniture, housewares, books, dishes, decorations, craft supplies and a changing assortment of secondhand goods. Some are everyday necessities; others are the sorts of things you didn't know you were looking for until you spotted them.
Donated goods have the opportunity to be useful again, and shoppers can find affordable things for their homes and hobbies. Inventory changes regularly, so every visit is a little different.
Good Things also includes a Vintage Consignment Room and a Maine-Made Room, featuring additional treasures and work from local makers.
Proceeds from Good Things help support the community work of Medomak Exchange. The shop also plays a more direct role in helping local households access essential items through its community outreach.
Our shop is also a way to help neighbors find the practical things they need.
Good Things works directly with local social service agencies and their clients to provide free household necessities to community members in need.
Furnishing a home and finding everyday essentials can be difficult, especially when resources are limited. Through partnerships with agencies already assisting local individuals and families, Good Things helps make useful household items available at no cost.
This outreach is coordinated with local social service organizations and the people they support. It allows Good Things to contribute to the work those agencies are already doing, while helping community members obtain items for their homes.
The shop's regular sales also help fund Medomak Exchange's wider programs, including resources for families, community activities, and opportunities to learn and connect.
Every donation, every purchase, and every local partnership helps this work continue.
